Mr. Thomas F. Freeland, 78, died in San Antonio on Monday October 20,2025 after a prolonged illness. Mr. Freeland was a retired computer systems engineer. Mr. Freeland’s father, Robert L. Freeland, a retired advertising executive, died in 2000. His mother, Mary Katherine Hart Freeland died in San Antonio on January 8, 2009. Mr. Freeland graduated from Alamo Heights High School, in San Antonio. He went on to college at University of Texas at Austin, where he graduated with special honors, and then went on to two years of graduate study. Mr. Freeland lived for many years in the northern Virginia area, where his career as a computer systems engineer involved progressively complex computer applications and large-scale database applications. In recent years he retried to San Antonio.
A Memorial Service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Friday, November 14, 2025 at Porter Loring Mortuary, 1101 McCullough Ave.
