

Thomas J. “Jerry” Jordan passed away on April 3, 2021, at the age of 87. He had been a resident of Bader House for the past few months, where he was given extraordinary care by its loving team of caregivers.
Jerry was born in Bronson, Texas on August 23, 1933, to parents, R.D. & Maudie Wright Jordan. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Melinda Mittel Jordan, and daughter, Donna Jordan Faucett, son-law-law, Jim Faucett, of Nacogdoches, Texas, and daughter, Jenna Jordan, of San Antonio, Texas. He has seven beloved grandchildren: Jasmine Palmer and Jackson Palmer, James B. Faucett, wife, Tomochi, Noel Faucett, Mark Faucett, wife, Juri, Katharine Faucett Krug, husband, Jacob Krug, and Jacqueline Faucett. There are four great grandchildren, Eita, Eiji, George and Rio, Jerry’s surviving brother is Don Jordan of Hemphill, Texas.
Jerry attended public schools in Beaumont, Texas, and upon graduation, he received an athletic scholarship to play basketball at Baylor University. During his years at Baylor, the Shahan family of Brackettville, Texas, became his angel family where he worked through school and, afterward, they remained his second family. He graduated from Baylor in 1956, earning a BBA degree. President Eisenhower delivered the swearing in oaths to the ROTC Class, appointing Jerry an officer in the United States Air Force. He attended flight school in Mission, Texas and his service included Headquarters Squadron Commander with the 366th Fighter/Bomber Wing at England AFB in Louisiana, and served at Thule AFB in Greenland, inside the Arctic Circle. He served seven years in the Reserve attaining the rank of Captain.
Jerry was a partner and owner of several insurance agencies in San Antonio. He was especially grateful for the association and guidance of Ben T. Bennett and O.J. Van Horn throughout his business career.
He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.
He will be remembered lovingly by his family and close friends for his humor and lively stories that have become legend. He could take any event or experience and make it more memorable. It will bring joy to retell these stories for generations, as there was no other like him.
In lieu of flowers, it is requested donations be made to Boysville, Wounded Warriors, Shadow Servants - a family Christian foundation supported by his daughter and her husband on Facebook, or the charity of their choice.
Services are scheduled for Monday, May 10, with a chapel service at Porter Loring North at 12:30pm, and a gravesite service at Ft. Sam Houston Cemetery at 2:15pm. It is requested to have the service at Ft. Sam for family.
