Thomas Merritt Patterson passed away peacefully on September 14, 2015. He was born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana. Tom distinguished himself in the United States Air Force, serving for 24 years and achieving the rank of Chief Master Sergeant. He served multiple tours around the world including an extended stay in Eastern Europe. After retirement, he earned his real estate license and was the proprietor of North Loop Realtors. He was an active volunteer at his beloved Alamo Heights United Methodist Church, and in the last year of his life, he began volunteering as a Blue Bird at San Antonio Methodist Hospital. He spoke excitedly about the friendships he made and the renewed sense of purpose he found there.
