Thomas A. Sachey

Thomas Andrew Sachey, age 79, passed away on April 30, 2022 with his loving wife of over 53 years, Elaine and son Joe by his side. Tom enjoyed and took great pride in his twenty years of service in the United States Air Force. He was stationed in San Antonio, Hawaii, and Alaska, retiring as a Technical Sergeant in 1980. Tom was remarkably meticulous, hard working and focused, propelling him to excel at many hobbies over the years including billiards, bowling, tennis, golf, gardening, and photography. Tom’s love of cats, plumerias, minions, old movies, and chocolate were features of his later years. An only child, Tom was born and raised in North Tonawanda, New York. He was preceded in death by parents Andrew Sachey and Stella Seizega Sachey, and is survived by wife Elaine Grothues Sachey, son Joseph Anthony Sachey and wife Monica, and grandchildren Mya, Eli, and Aaron

A visitation for Thomas will be held Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Sunset Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Highway, San Antonio, TX 78218. A prayer service will occur Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at 11:00 AM, 1701 Austin Highway, San Antonio, TX 78218. A committal service will occur Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at 1:00 PM at FT. Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Road, San Antonio, TX 78209.
