On Wednesday, October 14th, 2026, Thomas Anthony Wirth, Sr., known to friends and family as “Tommy,” passed from this earth and went to be with the Lord. Tommy is survived by his wife, Kathy Hoermann Wirth, as well as her children and grandchildren. He leaves behind three children: son Thomas Anthony Wirth, Jr. (Scarlett Wirth), daughter Laura Wirth Cone (Will Cone), son Chase Stieren Wirth and Emily Perryman Hall. He is also survived by five grandchildren: Landry Wirth, Tate Wirth, Clara Cone, David Cone, and Acacia Warren. Tommy was preceded in death by his father and mother, Ferdinand Wirth and Evelyn Wirth, his wife Donna Gray Wirth, and his daughter Katherine Elizabeth Wirth.
Tommy was born on September 18th, 1946, in San Antonio, Texas to Mr. Ferdinand Wirth and Mrs. Evelyn Wirth. He was the youngest of three children, alongside his brother Ferdie Wirth, Jr. and his sister Carol Lee Wirth-Wright. Tommy Wirth lived a full and meaningful life, filled with a lifelong love for his family and friends, memorable experiences, a fulfilling career, and most importantly, faith. As a young boy, he attended St. Anthony’s Catholic School before continuing his education at Robert E. Lee High School, where he played football. Tommy went on to graduate from Trinity University and married his high school sweetheart, Donna Gray Wirth. Following graduation, he began his career selling car parts as well as insurance. In 1994, he founded Bulverde Boat and RV Storage, which remains a thriving business today. Tommy had a generous spirit and a heart for giving back to his community; from donating to homeless shelters to handing out Bible tracts in downtown San Antonio, he made meaningful differences in the lives of those around him. Through this, Tommy demonstrated the importance of compassion, generosity, and living out his faith.
Beyond his work and impact on the community, Tommy treasured his family and the relationships that shaped his life. Some of his favorite moments were found in the everyday things he enjoyed, especially reading his Bible, spending time with his family, drinking a good cup of coffee, power naps, and traveling to Santa Fe with his wife, Kathy. Above all, Tommy’s love for Jesus meant more to him than anything else; as a member of Alamo Heights Methodist Church, he carried his faith with him throughout his life. His favorite Bible verse was Philippians 4:6-7, which reflects the trust he placed in God. Tommy’s family is blessed to take comfort in his faith, knowing that he was a believer, loved Jesus more than anything, and is now at home with his Heavenly Father.
The family of Mr. Wirth would like to express sincere gratitude to Dr. Scott Campbell and Tommy’s caregiver, Mac Peters, an employee of San Antonio Care Givers. Additionally, the family would like to recognize employees Cindy Lemay, Yanett Hernandez, and Valarie Gatti for their many years of dedicated service and friendship. To honor Mr. Wirth’s memory, please consider donating to San Antonio Rescue Mission, Roy Maas Youth Alternatives, Children Matter the Most, or Haven for Hope in lieu of flowers.
The funeral service for Mr. Tommy Wirth will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, October 23rd, 2026, at Alamo Heights United Methodist Church, followed by a Celebration of Life beginning at 4:30 PM at the San Antonio Country Club. Should you feel inclined, please wear your favorite guayabera in honor of Tommy.
