He was ordained on June 11, 2004 into the Permanent Deaconate of the Archdiocese of San Antonio and was assigned to St. Peter Prince of the Apostles Catholic Church.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, 4th order and active in ACTS. A graduate of the US Army War College, he was a US Army Special Forces Airborne Ranger Ret..
During his career he was awarded the Depart of Defense Superior Service Metal. Tom became a veterinarian, a graduate of UNAM, and completed his internship at the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. While he was ranching, he was owner and trainer of the U.S High Point Arabian Stallion, Omega Weitez, from 1971- 1973.
He is preceded in death by his father, Frank R. Ohnemus.
Tom is survived by his beloved wife, Dr. Rachael Smith Ohnemus; loving daughters: Rebecca and Sarah Ohnemus; his mother, Virginia Ohnemus; sister, Barbara Holder and her husband, Alfred Darwin, of Lubbock, TX and their children Alfred Darwin Katrina, wife, Barbara David, husband, and Charles Deirdre, wife.
