Tommy S. Scott (TJ) was born July 17, 1993, in Chicago, IL to Marilyn Harris and Tommy L. Scott. Tommy grew up in Chicago where he spent most of his childhood. He and his Family later moved to San Antonio, TX where he would attend Warren high school and flourish in his life. He accepted Christ at a young age. Tommy had a smile that could light up the whole room and a laugh that made everyone around him laugh too. He was the kind of man who never met a stranger, whether he was on a basketball court making plays or on a football field showing his strength or sitting around with his family cracking jokes. Tommy brought joy everywhere he went, he was loving, kindhearted and full of life. His children were his whole world, no matter how busy life became, he made sure they felt loved, protected, and important. Family meant everything to him, and he carried that love proudly. He showed up for people he loved, always willing to help and encourage or simply make someone smile on a hard day. Tommy also had a funny side that nobody could forget. He could turn any ordinary moment into a memory people will laugh about for years; even during difficult times he found a way to bring comfort through humor and love. Though his presence is deeply missed, the love he gave, the laughter he shared, and the memories he created, will live on forever in the hearts of everyone who knew him. Tommy was more than a son, father, and family man. He was a light that touched so many lives. Tommy departed this life on May 7th, 2026.
He is preceded in death by his grandfathers; William Sims, Sr., and Elder Perry Booth, He leaves to cherish in his memory, his mother, Marilyn Thompson & Pops, Steven Thompson; Father, Tommy L. Tributes
Ohh bro bro, how I will miss your presence, you were so nonchalant and funny! It hurts to know you are no longer here with us, but I feel better knowing you are no longer suffering. You were a character; you lived in your own world majority of the time. I would pick your brain just to join your world, and you would get annoyed because you are a man of little words. But you love me, so you would answer all 20+ of my questions every time we linked up. Ha, Ha. Well, I'm glad I had asked you so many questions because one answer I did receive from many, was that you knew the Lord and had a relationship with God. And for that, I believe I know exactly where you are. Until we meet again Angel, watch over our family, we need you. I love you Infinity – Your Baller Sister, HoopD
TJ,
You've reached the time to return home to our Lord, and savior Jesus Christ. While you struggled at times with earthly things, you always had a big heart and loved your family and friends. We've been reminiscing on so many special moments we shared with you. You were great with kids, especially when you were with yours, and your nieces and nephews; you had a way with people that drew them to you. You were always talking about someone you met, and a new friend you had. I'm happy you rededicated yourself to Jesus and was working on bettering your life. Rest well in heaven son, until we meet again.
– Love, Pops
Growing up, you stay busy, always getting into something, always doing silly things. Then came that smile, a smile that could light up a room and make everyone around you smile too. You are many things in this life; a son, a brother, a father, and a dad. You carry each title with love and because of that, you will truly be missed. Though our hearts are heavy, your memory will live on in every laugh, every story, and every moment we hold close. Fly high TJ, you will never be forgotten.
– Love, Tracy and Dad
My son, there are no words big enough to explain the pain of losing you. Some days I still wait to hear your voice, your footsteps, or you're knocking on my door. My heart is learning how to live with a silence that should never have existed.
I missed the little things, the most, your smile, your laughter, your presence, and simply knowing you were here. A piece of me left with you, and the love I have for you, will never fade with time. You will always be my baby, my heart, and one of God's greatest gifts to me. Even through my tears, I thank God for allowing me the privilege of being your mother. Thank you for the memories, the love, and the moments I will hold on to forever. I pray you know how deeply you are loved every single day. I'm trying to be strong son; some days are harder than others, but I trust that God is holding you now and giving me the strength to keep going. Until we meet again, I will carry you on every heartbeat, every prayer, and every memory.
– Love Always, Mom
