Troy Fern Rowe

Troy was born in Converse, Louisiana on February 19th, 1928.

She attended Converse High School in Louisiana and later graduated from Southwest Texas University with a Masters degree in Education. She married Kenneth Rowe in March of 1948. Prior to her education degree she worked as a waitress as well as a car dealership bookkeeper before devoting her career to teaching. She was a proud 4th grade teacher for over 25 years for North East ISD in San Antonio, Texas.

Troy was a member of Cornerstone Church in San Antonio and was involved in the Thunderbird Club as well as the San Antonio Alzafar Shrine alongside her husband Ken. She enjoyed staying fit in her later years with the popular exercise class Jazzercise and occasionally dancing. Troy was very proud of her grandchildren and spent countless hours creating amazing scrapbooks for her grandchildren to enjoy. She will be fondly remembered for her creative cooking ideas and unique twists on food recipes to surprise her family.

Troy is preceded in death by her parents Perry & Jewel Ryals, Her Siblings Perry Ryles, Thessalie Oliver, Yvonne Fleming and Bobby Ryals and husband Kenneth Rowe.

Troy is survived by her children Redell Knox of San Antonio and Barry Rowe and spouse Connie of Nokomis, Florida; Nieces Paula Harvey and Brenda Fleming of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Susan Jackson of Spring, Texas; Grandchildren Zachary Knox and spouse Tanya of San Antonio, Texas, Kelly Van Dam and spouse Mark of Nokomis, Florida, Justin Knox and spouse Jamie of Garden Ridge, Texas, Tyler Rowe and spouse Ruth of Haltom City, Texas; Great-Grandchildren Mason, Zoey, Joshua, Nevi, Juliana and Taryn.

Pallbearers will be Barry Rowe, Zachary Knox, Justin Knox, Tyler Rowe, Michael Barnea and Charles Ingram.

Visitation is Tuesday, June 24th at 8:30 AM at Sunset North Funeral Home (910 North Loop 1604 East) and funeral services to follow at 9:30 AM. The Burial Service will be at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 11 AM.
