Twila Yvonne Sweet
August 17, 1929 – March 5, 2019
Twila Yvonne Sweet was born August 17, 1929 to Ralph and Lottie Kinslow near Edmond, Kansas. At age 6 her mother contracted Scarlett Fever and on her death bed requested that her two daughters be put into the care of their Aunt. After her mother’s death Twila and her sister were sent to their great Aunt in Middleville, Michigan. Twila graduated school in 1947, but because of her Aunts health, she and her sister moved to live with their Aunt and Uncle in South Texas. While living in Texas, Twila met her husband Murray through a church acquaintance and it was love at first sight. Their courtship was all through correspondence until Murray got back from his service in the United States Army. They got married in 1951 and had three children; Daryl, Leland, and Cheryl. Murray and Twila settled in Austin, Texas where Twila had a sewing business for many years before going to work for the Internal Revenue Service where she retired in 1991. Murray and Twila then sold their house and traveled in a Motorhome. They saw many wonderful places and met many great people. Health issues brought them to Bulverde to be closer to family, there they enjoyed living in the quiet country. Twila enjoyed visiting with others at the Bulverde Activity Center and bowling, as long as Murray was able to bowl. In 2017 Twila was moved to the nursing home to have more help with her health needs. She passed away Tuesday March 5, 2019.
