U.S Army Specialist Gustavo Moreno Jr.

U.S. Army Specialist Gustavo Moreno Jr. is now cancer free and finally at rest; born November 20, 1994 in San Antonio, Texas, he was called to be with our Lord on July 24th, 2015 at the age of 20. Though his time was short, he accomplished much. His honor and fortitude kept his spirit strong; he fought for his life and throughout his battle never faulted in his duties to protect his family. Always with a smile his hope never faded; he showed his undying devotion to his wife and daughter and always spoke his mind. Loved ones filled his home and were by his side in his final moments; his spirit will live on forever in our memories and in Heaven. Preceded in death by his grandparents Maria Elva Corona and Jose Borjas Rodriguez; Specialist Moreno is survived by his wife and daughter Valerie Ann Hernandez and Avalee Moreno. Also survived by his parents Zoila Flor (Gustavo) Moreno and siblings Jessica E. Gomez, Francisco A. Gomez (San Juanita), Edwin S. Moreno, Elva E. Moreno, Justin D. Moreno, Christopher A. Moreno and Michael B. Gaytan. The Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at Trevino Funeral Home, 2525 Palo Alto Road, with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. The Visitation will continue on Thursday, July 30, 2015 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The Funeral Procession will depart from the funeral home on Friday, July 31, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. for a 10 a.m. Mass of the Resurrection at San Juan De Los Lagos Catholic Church. Interment will follow in St. Louis Catholic Cemetery, Castroville, Texas.
