

She received her BSN from the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, TX and is also a graduate of the Aerospace School of Medicine (Flight Nurse Division), Squadron Officers School, the Air Command and Staff College, and the Air War College. She spent over 20 years serving her country in various position here in the US, as well as Europe and Asia.
Cass was preceded in death by her parents, Arnold E. and Julie Casterline; brothers, Arnold P. and Robert A. Casterline; and nephew, Charles.
She is survived by brothers, Joseph and wife Pat, Leonard and wife Janice; four nephews; two nieces; and several great-nephews and nieces. Close friends were very important to her, especially Gerry Last, Henrietta Valenti, and Patt Nelms.
Her favorite assignment was flying Air Evac Missions. She was a medical crew director, as well as a Cat 3 testing officer in the research and development program for the School of Aerospace Medicine Division. She also served as a flight instructor and flight examiner on many missions. She was especially adaptive at improvising as needed on several missions and was well liked by her staff. Her love for golf always prevailed even when she could no longer play. Cass was well known for her woodworking and decorating skills, especially at Christmas time. Cass will be missed by all whose lives she touched. May she rest in peace.
Visitation will be Monday, January 16, 2017 at Porter Loring Mortuary North, 7:00pm to 8:00pm.
