'He was my mother's uncle, and my great uncle. I have so many fond memories. The weekends we'd spend the night with cousin Renee at great grandmother's house, the times he'd drive us to six flags up here in Dallas, we would sing on the way so many patriotic songs. He lived a good life and will forever be in our hearts!'

'My mother, sister, and I lived next door to his mother's house on Grove ST. way back in 1960! Mr. Allen befriended me as a kid; throwing the baseball, offering advise on playing ball. I loved the man greatly, and never forgot his sweet kindness. He was the closest thing to a father to me as I have ever experienced! Do Charles, his son, whom he called Chuckie, and his sister, whom I think he called, Rebecca, remember his yellow Volkswagen? Do they remember the time they picked up a boy at his house, and gave him 2 half-dollars for his birthday? I was that boy! He took all of us to Lackland AFB that day, to swim. I remember him teaching us all how to dive. I could go on and on about trips to the zoo, and going to a park to hit some golf balls. Due to circumstances beyond my control, I was never able to contact him, and thank him for his fatherly kindness and concern to me. I never forgot him, and never will. One day soon, I will get to greet, hug, and thank him in Heaven. God bless his memory, and give comfort to the Allen family during this sad time.'
