After high school, Bill enlisted in the USAF and began a 40-year active duty career culminating in the rank of Lt. Colonel. As a military intelligence officer Bill served many years overseas. During this time he completed a B.S. as well as an M.B.A., also graduating with honors from USAF and national agency courses. Bill was the recipient of many medals and commendations.
Bill logged thousands of Volksmarch miles and was a valued trailmeister for the Texas Volkssport Association.
In addition to his wife, Jane, Bill is survived by sons, Michael and William; daughter, Bonnie; step-daughters, Emily and Holly; step-son, Clark, and ten grandchildren. Bill, the oldest of eleven children, will be sorely missed by family and friends whose lives he touched with love, kindness, and generosity. Fulfilling a lifelong wish, Bill will be buried in Arlington National Cemetery.
A celebration of Bill's life will be held at Porter Loring Mortuary North on Wednesday, October 8 at 7:00 p.m.
