

Master Sargent Joe Oscar Klonek, USAF (Ret.), age 93, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 13, 2017, at Morningside Manor in San Antonio. We would like to give a special thanks to Vitas Hospice for their caring services and to Morningside Manor, Unit 7 for all their special attention that was given.
The son of Frank and Soledad Klonek, Joe Oscar was a lifelong resident of San Antonio. After serving 21 years in the US Air Force, Joe Oscar had the opportunity to join the US Post Office, where he spent 15 years before retiring. He also owned and operated a typewriter repair business in San Antonio for many years.
Joe Oscar was a wonderful, hardworking man. He never met a stranger and was never at a loss for words. Joe Oscar genuinely loved getting to know people. He had a passion for fishing and spent most of his free time at the Port Aransas coast where he especially enjoyed his time on his boat shark fishing. He loved to travel and gamble with his wife.
Joe Oscar was preceded in death by his sister, Marion Klonek; brothers, Frank Klonek, Jr., Joseph Klonek, Rudolph Klonek, and Edward Klonek. Joe Oscar is survived by his wife, Rosemary; daughter, Kathy Klonek; sisters, Theresa Garcia, Carmen Kulik, Virginia Beaty, and Christine Arrington; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., on Monday, April 24, 2017, at Porter Loring on McCullough.
