'I always had a good time when John was around.'

'Good friend and great man. We always ate and drank well on PK trips to Vandenburg. We should all make the effort to stay in touch after retirement. I'm a better person having know John. God's peace to his family.'

'We have known John since we moved to Lillian in 2001. We grew to be great friends over the years, especially the last few. John had so many great stories to share. He joined us for all the holiday meals and shared a love for our family. He often cooked us bread, and he asked us to enjoy the fruit from his trees. He was very generous and loving. We miss him very much.'

'RIP John We had some great times working together in PK and Vandenburg AFB. Will never forget your humor.'

'John was the first person that greeted me when I walked into Bldg 1501 back in '92. He was always laughing or telling a good joke.

'John was a good guy. I worked with him for several years on the Peacekeeper program in Cheyenne. Had no idea he had moved to San Antonio, my home town. Did not know Virginia had died either. Kind of lost touch after he retired and moved to 'LA' as he used to call lower Alabama.'

'John allowed my transition into Minuteman from aircraft to go smoothly. He was my 1st NCOIC in the Minuteman community and a man who set an example for all of us to emulate.'

'Blessings to all. John was a great man. Enjoyed riding the Bob Marshall with him.'

'Please accept my condolences on the passing of your loved one. MSgt Anders was my first NCOIC when I reported for duty at Malmstrom AFB in 1976. He was a good NCO and person to look to as an example to emulate.'

'I knew John at Malmstrom AFB. Good guy! May he rest in peace. 
He was driving a crane out to a missile site I was on. When he got there he told me to come around to the passenger side of the crane. When I opened the door there was a buck deer in the passenger seat. He told me "be careful, he was still moving when I put him in there"! He had hit the deer on the way! Quite a character.'

'I am fortunate enough to have know John and his wife in Great Falls. I am certain he will be missed by all. He served his country well.'

'John was a good NCO and looked out for many behinds. He was a mentor for many that served after him. He was a great hunting buddy to me and was there for me during some tough times. Had some of the best times of my life with him. Who else would order whiskey and water to go from Mac's bar in Wolf Creek, Mt that was prepared in gallon pickle jar and used and entire fith. He did and I enjoyed it with him on the mountain. He was one of those things that is very difficult to find - a true friend. I will miss him.'
