

Rafael had a 26 year career in the U.S. Air Force and served during the Korean and Vietnam wars. He was stationed throughout the United States.
After retirement, Rafael taught at the University of Texas Health Science Center and then went on to work for the VA Hospital until his final retirement.
His wife, Lucy, the love of his life, took tender and loving care of him every day for over 62 years. Together they had four children, Richard (Norma) Villegas, Sylvia (Gordon) Chisenhall, Robert (Debra) Villegas and Sandra (George) McClure.
He enjoyed and loved his grandchildren, Robert (Karina) Villegas, Analisa (Brandon) Roland, Dana (Tim) Fields, Ariel De La Garza, Melinda Villegas, Michael Villegas, Julie Villegas, Amber Sanchez and Jason Sanchez.
Rafael loved greatly and was greatly loved. He was met in Heaven by his son, Richard, and granddaughter, Melinda, along with his sister, brothers, and parents.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 beginning at 6:00 p.m. at St. Henry's Catholic Church.
