Valerie Rachele Hinojosa

A proud graduate of the Class of 2005 from McCollum High School, Valerie went on to earn her degree from St. Philip’s College. She dedicated her professional life to caring for others as a nurse at University Health System (UHS), where her compassion and commitment touched countless lives.

Valerie was a woman of deep faith and an active member of Westover Hills Church, where she found joy in serving and connecting with her local church life group. She loved music—especially "Bohemian Rhapsody" by Queen—and found peace and purpose in worship.

Her vibrant spirit showed in everything she did. Valerie loved to travel, cook delicious meals, paint, do makeup, and express herself through fashion. She was a talented crafter and host, always ready to plan a party or give a thoughtful gift. A true foodie, she delighted in exploring new flavors and sharing meals with loved ones. Valerie cherished time with her family and friends, always bringing laughter and warmth wherever she went.

She is reunited in heaven with her beloved grandmother, Mary Mortez and her cousin Maria Reyes.

Valerie’s memory will forever live in the hearts of her husband, Jerry P. Hinojosa; her beloved son; Isaac Airen Hinojosa, her loving parents, Sylvia and David Gonzalez; her brother, David Gonzalez Jr.; her sister-in-law, Emily Gonzalez; her cherished nephew, Cipriano Gonzalez; her nieces, Zoey and Nora Gonzalez; her grandparents, Ignacio and Hilda Gonzalez; and many other treasured family members and friends who will continue to celebrate her beautiful life and legacy.

Valerie's kindness, creativity, and laughter will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

A Church Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Westover Hills Church, 9340 Westover Hills Blvd, San Antonio, TX 78251.

The Funeral Mass will take place immediately following at 10:00 AM at the same location.

An Additional Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Road, San Antonio, TX 78237.
