Born on August 2, 1943, in Lampasas, Texas, Veda grew up to be a remarkable woman whose warmth and intelligence touched all facets of her life.
Veda's early education took place in Texas, where she demonstrated a keen interest in business and the arts. She earned an Associate of Arts in Business Administration from San Jacinto College and later pursued her passion for aesthetics by obtaining a Certificate of Interior Design from St. Mary's University. Her academic achievements laid a strong foundation for what would become a diverse and successful career.
Professionally, Veda was a woman of many talents and an unwavering work ethic. She served as an Assistant Manager at Villages of Parktown in Deer Park, Texas, and as a Manager at West Memorial Townhouses in Houston, Texas. Her entrepreneurial spirit led her to establish Stone's Cleaning Services in Katy, Texas. Veda also contributed her meticulous skills as a Bookkeeper at Porter Loring in San Antonio, Texas. Her love for design and decor found its true expression when she became a Store Manager at General Furniture Leasing, and later, as a Senior Interior Designer at Ethan Allen Furniture, both in San Antonio, Texas. Her work was not only a reflection of her professionalism but also her creativity and her ability to make the world around her a more beautiful place.
Veda's zest for life was paralleled by her love for travel. Her adventurous spirit took her to the far corners of the world, including Hawaii, Australia, New Zealand, Paris, Fiji, Germany, Switzerland, Poland, Austria, Costa Rica, Mexico, Italy, and the picturesque landscapes of the Northwestern United States. Each destination was an opportunity for Veda to embrace new cultures, create lasting memories, and find inspiration for her life and work.
Above all, Veda cherished her family. She is survived by her devoted spouse, Dr. John Stone, and her loving sons, Jeffery R. Stone and James (Rod) Stone. Veda's role as a wife and mother was imbued with the same passion and dedication she brought to every aspect of her life. Her presence was a source of comfort and joy, and she will be profoundly missed by her family and all who knew her.
Veda's legacy is one of passion, dedication, and love. Her contributions to her family, her career, and her community will not be forgotten. Veda's life was a tapestry of experiences, achievements, and relationships that will continue to inspire and influence for generations to come.

A private ceremony will be held to honor Veda's life and legacy. She will be laid to rest in Dilley, Texas, where her spirit will continue to be felt by all who walk the paths she once did.
