Verline played basketball in high school at Sugartown High School. She met the love of her life and married Jesse Garcia in December 1950. She started her career as an Army wife then either traveling to different countries and states setting up a new home everytime. Moving almost every year, she was in charge of packing up and unpacking, getting the kids in and out of schools and keeping things calm on the home front. After settling down out of military life she helped raise all of her grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, sister Avis (Eddie) on their numerous trips to Branson. Her life was filled with love of her family and her happiest moments were when everyone was together for the holidays.
She is preceded in death by her husband Sargent First Class Jesse Garcia Ret. US Army; parents; siblings Betty Sue, Eva Lee, Johnny, Wilson, Louis and Monroe, and daughter in law, Mary. Verline is survived by her sisters Avis, Billie, and Gloria, daughter, Sharolyn Grammer and husband Charlie; sons, Ronald R. Garcia and wife Rhonda, and Michael L. Garcia and wife Patricia; grandchildren, Ryan Grammer and wife Shelby, Elizabeth Booker and husband Russell, Jason Garcia, Samantha Morici and husband Lawrence, Joshua M. Garcia and wife Destiny, and Sarah Collazo and her husband, Jorge and their soon to be baby Jo; great grandchildren, Johnathan M. Garcia, Hayden B. Booker, Dwain S. Booker, Rose Marie Morici, Sophia Quinn Grammer, Olivia Grace Grammer, Everleigh Ray Garcia, and Presley Beau Garcia.
The family will receive friends at 10:30 am on Friday, September 5, 2025, with a funeral service beginning at 11:30 am.
Interment to follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
