Vickie A. Hernandez

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Vickie A. Hernandez, who left us on February 21, 2025 at the age of 68. She was born on December 30, 1956 to parents Toribio Apolinar Sr. and Antonia Rosales in Galveston, TX.

A lover of sports, Vickie had a deep passion for baseball, proudly supporting the Chicago Cubs, as well as the San Antonio Spurs and the Dallas Cowboys. Her love for these teams brought her joy, especially during times of victory.

Vickie also found comfort and entertainment in her favorite TV shows, including The Young and the Restless and One Life to Live, which she faithfully watched over the years.

Above all, Vickie adored her grandson, Paul, who brought immense pride and happiness into her life. Being his "Gaga" was her greatest joy. She was so proud of her two children, Bryan and Salina, and son-in-law Stephan. She shared a bond with them that will forever remain cherished.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Toribio Apolinar Sr., Antonia Rosales, her step-father, Pablo Villafranca, brothers, Jesus(Chuy) Apolinar, Juan Apolinar, and her nephew Raul "Lito" Gutierrez III.

A beloved family member and friend, Vickie will be remembered for her kindness, humor, and love. She is survived by her children Salina (Stephan), Bryan, grandson Paul, siblings, Juanita Gutierrez, Toby Apolinar Jr, ex-husband/life friend Jorge Hernandez, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Bryan and Salina would like to extend a special thank you to Erica Lara and Jessica Apolinar for their love and support during this difficult time.

Visitation for Vickie will be Thursday March 6, 2025 from 5:00 PM till 10:00 PM with a rosary at 7:00 PM at Trevino Funeral Home. Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM at St. Leonard's Catholic Church 8510 S Zarzamora St. San Antonio TX 78224. Services will conclude at the church.
