Victor D. Paz

Victor Paz, 50, passed away February 9th in San Antonio, Texas. A San Antonio native, Victor attended and graduated from East Central High School 1989. He was a member of the Varsity baseball team. After graduation, Victor began his quest to live a life of service. According to one close friend “Victor was one of the originals that help build Texas Finest and FINCO”. It is during his time at FINCO that he established great friendships and enjoyed being around his coworkers and traveling to different stadiums across Texas.

With amazing work ethic and a passion for helping others Victor made his way to SAISD where he worked with some of the most caring students within the districts for more than 20 years. Victor’s coworkers remembered “he would help without you having to ask. And he would help without asking for or expecting anything in return.” He loved helping the kids no matter what they needed help with. While at SAISD, Victor and his coworkers made quite a dynamic team which positively impacted the lives of their students and everyone they came in contact with.

As a servant leader, Victor looked to help the San Antonio community by working with the Park and Recreation for 10 years during the summer as a means of helping kids stay off the street. Victor spent countless hours volunteering with the Highland Hawks Pop Warner football team, coaching youth basketball, and his beloved hurricanes baseball team.

When he was not working, Victor spent his free time with family. He was the life of the party and the first one to hit the dance floor. When supporting his children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews at their athletic functions, Victor was the loudest one in the stands. Victor took great pride in his family and would do anything to make them smile or help them succeed.

Victor will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him as he had a gift of making people around him happy and filled their life with genuine positivity. Those close to him knew that they were more than just friends to Victor, they were family.

Victor leaves behind numerous family and friends. He is survived by his parents Johnnie and Beatriz Paz. His son Joel Paz. His brother Daniel and his wife Jacklyn. His brother John and wife Becky. His lady Michelle Martinez and their children Jose and Ruby Coronado. His grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Victor will live forever in the hearts of his family, friends, and coworkers.
