Vida Ruth Holmes

Vida Ruth Holmes, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2026, at the age of 91. She was born on November 11, 1934, to Sterling and Ethyl Kocher.

Vida lived a life filled with love, kindness, and dedication to her family. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, including bowling, traveling, and crocheting. Whether creating something beautiful with her hands, exploring new places, or spending time with those she loved, Vida brought warmth and happiness to those around her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sterling and Ethyl Kocher; her son, Bradley Birth; and her siblings, Luther Kocher and Phyllis Langston.

Vida leaves behind her devoted husband of 61 years, Rudolph D. Holmes, whose love and companionship were the foundation of a lifetime of cherished memories. She is also survived by her children, David Holmes and Cindi Birth; her grandchildren, Ashley, Breyanna, Cameron, and Austin; and four treasured great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy to her life.

Vida's gentle spirit, loving heart, and unwavering devotion to her family will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched and the love she shared so freely.

May her memory be a source of comfort and peace to those who loved her.

Visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Road, San Antonio, TX 78237, US, on June 2, 2026, from 10:30 am to 11:30 am, followed by a Chapel Service at the same location on June 2, 2026, from 11:30 am to 12:00 pm.

Committal will take place at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209, US, on June 2, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 1:20 pm.
