Vincent Arturo James Onofre

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Vincent Arturo James Onofre, who left us far too soon on September 7, 2024. Vincent, born on July 13, 2005, was a lifelong resident of San Antonio, Texas, and a beloved member of our community.

Vincent was a bright light in the lives of those around him. A proud graduate of Johnson High School, Class of 2023, he excelled both academically and personally. His passions were as varied as they were intense. Vincent was deeply involved in mixed martial arts, with a special love for Muay Thai, where he honed his skills and found joy. Music was another cornerstone of his life; he was a talented guitarist and singer, whose voice and melodies touched many, especially through his participation in choir.

Vincent’s life was marked by a vibrant spirit and a loving heart. He is preceded in death by his sister, Leanna Hodai, who will forever be missed.

Vincent is survived by his mother, Ciria Negrete; his father, Salvador Onofre, and his wife Erin; and his siblings, Salvador Onofre IV, Adriana Onofre, Celsey McGhee, Henry Negrete, Charlie Negrete, Gabriela Negrete, and Georgina Negrete. He is also mourned by numerous other family members and friends who cherished him deeply.

The family will receive guests on Wednesday September 18, 2024, beginning at 6:00 p.m.

In lieu of fresh cut flowers, the family requests that potted plants be sent to honor Vincent’s memory. These living tributes will serve as a reminder of the vibrant and enduring spirit he brought into the world.

Vincent's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He was a bright, kind, and talented young man whose life, though brief, left an indelible mark on those who had the privilege of knowing him. Rest in peace, Vincent. You will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
