

Viola C. Leytham, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, December 11, 2016. She was born in San Antonio, Texas to Augustine and Maria Chinarini on October 8, 1928. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 29 years Reginaldo Trevino, John Leytham, and companion Jack Yates; son, Ricardo Trevino; grandchildren Oscar and Elliot Trevino; brothers, Augustine and Armando Chincarini. Viola is survived by her children, Ernesto Trevino, Verda Trevino Howard and husband Robert, Regina Trevino Torrez and husband Joseph; grandchildren, Christopher, Andy, Bobbie-Jo, Buddy, Ernest, Matthew, Melissa, Michael, Verda, and Alyssa; 31 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter. Viola was a Trailblazer of the 1950”s community of Loma Park for over 30 years. She was involved with her children in sports and at school. Viola was an Amazing cook, and homemaker. She would paint her own house, did her own plumbing, washed the family car, cut and manicured her own yard until she was in her eighties with absolute pride. She loved to dance, crochet, bead her own jewelry and was an avid fisherman. She would vacation Texas Coast with her family and brother. She loved to wade fish with brother and would later come to shore to fry the fish for dinner. When she wasn’t fishing, she would frequent the Las Vegas Casinos. She was able to travel Europe multiple times to visit her family roots. Later she came to live in the Great Northwest on Village Club and again continued to work on her yard and take great pride of her neighborhood. Viola came to settle at the Waterford on Huebner, where she would greet all the visitors as they came through. She worked on word search puzzles daily, enjoyed her bingo games and her weekly “Happy Hour.” The Family would like to thank all the residents and staff at the Waterford that welcomed her and treated her as family. A special thanks to Mama Torrez and Vitas Health Care in her last days.
Visitation will be at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home on Bandera Road on Thursday, December 15, 2016 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a rosary at 7:00 PM. The funeral procession will depart the funeral home at 9:30 AM for a 10:00 AM mass at St. Luke Catholic Church, 4603 Manitou Drive. Interment will follow at San Fernando Cemetery #2.
