Mrs Cox inspired me to be the avid reader I am today. I remember her reading James and the Giant Peach to us as a class. However she always did this tricky thing where she would not read the ending. Inspiring us to find out what happened! She was a great teacher. God Bless

Burney and Cathy, I am so sorry for the loss of your Mother. While growing up in Fort Stockton, I remember her as a vibrant, tiny, attractive Mother. I know she must have loved you both dearly. She was a devoted wife. They were married many years. My Dad sends his sympathy to you and your Dad. My daughter and son-in-law live in San Antonio and attend the same church as your parents. Very nice lady - I remember her well. She and my mom chatted often since we lived on the same street back in Ft. Stockton.

I taught with Jennie in FS and she was always so pleasant and positive. One of my favorite people to see in the morning. I know she will be missed. My heart goes out to the family.

I was saddened this morning when I read of Mrs. Cox's passing in the SA Express News. In 1974, Mrs. Cox was my 4th grade teacher in Ft. Stockton. She challenged me as a reader - a passion that I still carry today. With her encouragement, I left her class reading well above the 4th grade level (my Mom pulled out my 4th grade report card today). Not only a great teacher, I remember Mrs. Cox being impeccably dressed - a truly beautiful woman. I will always remember Mrs. Cox as my favorite teacher! My deepest sympathies to your family for your loss. May God Bless your family and may Mrs. Cox rest in peace. Thank you Mrs. Cox for making a difference in my life.
