Virginia G. Gonzales, age 95, passed away November 27, 2018 in San Antonio, TX. She was born on March 18, 1923 in San Antonio, TX to Francisco & Teofilia Gracia. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend who will be dearly missed.
She attended Sidney Lanier High School where she met her future husband, Norbert. They married in 1945 when he returned from World War II. They spent the next 37 years traveling the world. Virginia truly enjoyed the military life.
Virginia lived a long life because she took such good care of herself. She was an excellent cook especially Mexican dinners. She was active in her Mahjong Club, bowling team and Officer Wives Group in the military.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Norbert Gonzales in 2004.
She is survived by her son, Norbert Gonzales, Jr. & wife Mimi; daughters, Margaret Gonzales & husband Mike Carlson and Lynda Fajkus & husband Robert; 7 grandchildren, Michelle & husband Bladi, Jared, Taryn & husband Maverick, Paul, Lisa, Michael and Alyx; 2 great-grandchildren, Estrella and Jade.

The Visitation will be 9:30 a.m., Saturday, December 1, 2018 with the Funeral Service to follow at 10 a.m. at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. The Graveside Service will be 1 p.m., Monday, December 17, 2018 at the Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery (Shelter #1).
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in honor of our mother.
