

Virginia K. Hudnell, age 95, died peacefully April 2, 2009 in San Antonio, TX. Virginia was the daughter of Hazel and William Keusink, born February 22, 1914, Champaign, IL where she graduated from the University of Illinois with a Bachelor of Arts in history, 1935, and a Juris Doctorate, 1937.
She was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. Immediately upon graduating from law school Virginia married 1st Lt. William T. Hudnell, of Washington, NC who retired as a Major General after thirty five years of service in the Air Force.
San Antonio was their home the remainder of their lives. Virginia filled the role of a traditional military commander's wife mentoring and guiding other wives. She was a member of the San Antonio art community and an accomplished watercolorist. The McNay Museum was very important to her and she gave many years as a docent there.
She was also a long time member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church, the Daughters of the American Revolution, Military Civilian and Kappa Stitchers which create needle work for charitable causes.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years; a granddaughter, Ann Logan Littlefield and a grandson, John C. Littlefield III.
She is survived by a son, William T. Hudnell, Jr. and his wife, Ellen of San Antonio, TX; daughter, Virginia H. Littlefield of New Castle, NH; grandson, William T. Hudnell IV now serving in Iraq; granddaughter, Katherine L. Keizler of Providence, RI; three great grandchildren; and her devoted companion Yolanda Trevathan.
Interment will be at the Good Samaritan Episcopal Church, Gunnison, CO.
