Virginia V. Koett

Virginia Clawson Koett was born in San Antonio on March 7, 1919 and died peacefully on July 6, 2012 at the age of 93. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and wife. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Jerry Koett. She is survived by sons, Jim Koett and wife Rita, Craig Koett and wife Barbara; grandsons, Stephen Koett and wife Moira, Michael Koett and wife Heather; great grandchildren, Meghan Koett, Derek Koett, Ashley Koett; step grandchildren, Lisa Maymon and husband Howard, William Healy and wife Dayna, Jennifer Trost and husband Chris; numerous other relatives and friends. She was a devout Catholic and member of St. Gerard’s Catholic Church for over 50 years and served as the parish secretary for over 20 years. Virginia and Jerry were avid supporters of the parish church and school, insuring that their sons received 16 years of Catholic School Education. They were an integral part of the Koett family that helped establish the church in the early 1900’s. The family would like to express their thanks and admiration to the staff at Sonterra Health Care who provided excellent care for Virginia in her last years. The visitation will be held on Monday, July 9, 2012 beginning at 6:00 P.M. with the Rosary being recited at 7:00 P.M. at Sunset North Funeral Home, 910 North Loop 1604 East. The Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 20523 Huebner Rd. with Rev. Msgr. Douglas Fater as celebrant.
