She loved her family dearly and enjoyed the company of friends. She was a "bookworm", loved to travel with her daughter, Jeanette; sister, Ida Jane and brother, Bob. Virginia was a servant of the Lord, a gift she lovingly gave to many in her profession of 31 years in the field of nursing to include trauma, psych and VITAS HOSPICE.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard H. Lasky; her parents, John C. and Virginia G. Alvarez and brothers, John Joseph and Henry Garza Alvarez.
Virgie is survived by her children, Jeanette and Celestino Rodarte; grandchildren, Savannah Leigh and Ian Kannon; her sisters, Ida Jane A. Perez and Capt. Helen Jo. G. Ramirez, (Ret. USA); brother, Roberto Guadalupe Alvarez.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 27, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Porter Loring Mortuary on McCullough Ave.
