Virginia was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority International and was a school teacher and counselor for most of her adult life. She was a pilot and member of the 99s a ladies pilot association. She was a military wife to both of her husbands.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, John Martin Luther and Clayton Frederick McDaniel.
She is survived by her sons, John D. Luther and Richard McDaniel; daughter, Sharon McDaniel; brother, Joe Shockey and wife Frankie; sister, Betty Conrad and husband Joe; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of many dear friends and acquaintances.
