

Virginia Ramirez Robles, a shining beacon of love, joy, and unwavering kindness, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2024, in San Antonio, Texas, surrounded by the embrace of her devoted family. Born on July 21, 1943, in Yoakum, Texas, Virginia’s life was a beautiful tapestry of love, tradition, and service to others.
Virginia’s greatest passion was her family, to whom she devoted her heart and soul. She shared a lifetime of love with her husband, Rojelio Robles, and was the cherished mother of Vivian Ybarra, Richard D. Hodge Jr. (Norma), Edith M. Acosta (Henry), John J. Hodge, and Valerie Hodge-Rodriguez (Juan Carlos). Her legacy of warmth extended to her adored grandchildren Jessica, Dominic, Marissa, Sevastian, Cristian, and Shaun, as well as her treasured great-grandchildren Ashley, Elise, Lucas, and Nolan. She found immense joy in welcoming the newest generation of great-great-grandchildren, Noah and Paislee, into her loving embrace.
Virginia’s professional journey reflected her dedication and strong work ethic. A proud alumna of Fox Tech High School, she spent over 40 years as a devoted waitress in some of San Antonio’s finest establishments. One of her proudest career highlights was participating in the grand opening of the Tower of the Americas during the 1968 World’s Fair, a historic moment in San Antonio’s history.
Beyond her work, Virginia was an active and vibrant member of her community. She proudly served with the Ladies Auxiliary at VFW Post 76, the oldest post in Texas, and was honored to be nominated as Queen of the Post during Fiesta.
Virginia’s energy and zest for life were beautifully expressed through her passion for dance. As a member of the San Antonio Spurs Silver Dancers, she brought joy to audiences at home games for three years. She also danced with the Matachines, honoring the Virgin Mary through sacred performances and pilgrimages, and shared her love of movement as part of a line dancing group at the Granados Senior Center.
Her vibrant spirit extended to her membership in the Red Hat Society, where she celebrated life’s joys with camaraderie and humor. Virginia also found fulfillment in volunteering, arts and crafts, cooking, and hosting gatherings that brought loved ones together.
Virginia’s life was a testament to the power of love, community, and the joy of living each day to the fullest. Her laughter, compassion, and boundless energy touched the hearts of all who knew her. As her family and friends say goodbye, they celebrate a life well-lived, knowing her legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire future generations. Her memory will forever remain a cherished blessing in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
