She was born in San Antonio on February 18, 1922, to Robert and Catherine Hood.
She was an RN and Nurse Practitioner at Wilford Hall and Kelly AFB. A longtime member of the American Legion Auxiliary, she was also a member of ABWA, former member of Trinity Baptist XYZ's and a charter member of the Mermaids.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Franklin Scanlon, sister, Mary Hastings; and sister-in-law, Kathleen Jones.
Survivors include daughter, Jacquelyn Kay Scanlon Frields; brother, Robert E. Hood wife Margie; brother-in-law, Dr. A. Clark Scanlon, who will officiate wife Sarah; and wonderful nieces and nephews.
