Virginia Sittre

Our beloved Virginia Sittre was called home by the Lord with her family by her side in San Antonio October 9, 2010 at the age of 85. She was born June 2, 1925 in Clinton, MS. to the late Julius and Amanda Searcy. She was a long time member of Helotes Hills Methodist Church and was the charter president of the Women’s Auxiliary of the VFW Post #7108. Virginia is preceded in death by two sisters and is survived by her husband, Joseph Sittre, Jr.; daughters, Leisa Bonewald and Mina (John) Smith; Joseph’s children, Larry (Sherrill) Sittre, Sheryl (Michael) Layman, Karen (Michael) Stewart; grandchildren, Mina Shurii Smith, John (Gaby) Smith III, Christopher Bonewald, Bryan (Carey) Stewart, Karl Wayne (Jodie) Sittre, Michelle (Nick) Montgomery, Kammie Sittre, Kristen Carson, Mallory Layman; and a sister, Helen (James) Frazer. Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 12, 2010 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Zion Lutheran Cemetery.
