

She retired from Regional Day School for the Deaf after many years. Gene was active in the Bluebird Auxiliary and the Marketing Dept. at Methodist Hospital, and was a member of the following organizations: Old St. Mary's University Senior Guild, Regina Guild, Catholic Daughter's of America, Court Bishop Odin #1758, Blessed Sacrament Altar Society, Charter member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and a spirited member of the Baseline Bums.
In heaven she will join her husband, John Joseph Wampler; her parents; two sisters and one brother.
Gene is survived by her children: John Wampler and wife, Marsha, Patty Wampler and partner, Denice Hoggatt; Robert Wampler and wife, Deb; grandchildren: J.J. Wampler (Debra), Bonnie Taras (Jake), Mark Wampler (Elizabeth), Lindsey Wallmann (Zach) and Logan Wampler; great-grandchildren: Milo, Quinn, Zayden, Ayden and one on the way; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 30, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Porter Loring on McCullough.
