Viva Lucille Boazman

Viva Lucille Armstrong Boazman, age 88 went to be with her Lord Jesus on June 14, 2017. She was born to Callie Oliva Hinson Armstrong and John Charles Armstrong of Mt Pleasant, Texas on June 26, 1928.

Lucille attended Brackenridge High School in San Antonio where she met a handsome guy from Edison HS named Hugh Boazman. After a short romance Hugh joined the Navy and was shipped off to a Naval Base in San Diego, California. After several months apart Hugh convinced her to marry him. At age 17, she traveled alone by train to Yuma, Arizona where they met and were married. That High School love attraction lasted for 59 years.

Lucille had a passion for entertaining. She was a great cook and hostess with decorating skills to match. Anyone that came to her house for dinner knew it would be delightful and delicious. Every event was just as special as everyone in attendance. Later in life she would use these life taught skills to start her own Interior design and decorating business.

She loved her husband unconditionally and proved it by joining him on every hunting and fishing trip possible. Together they would build long lasting friendships with couples who also loved to hunt and fish. Again, more excuses to party!

Together, Lucille and Hugh, opened Slim's Garage on Blanco Road with the help of Hugh's dad in 1947. Together they built Slim's into the largest Independent Garage and Body Shop in San Antonio. Their greatest customers and supporters would be from Concordia Lutheran Church on Basse Road.

Lucille was totally devoted to Concordia. As a loving mother to her 3 children, she was determined to raise them in a Bible based, God Loving Christian environment. She was "all in" when it came to supporting her church. She taught Sunday school, Vacation Bible School, and served on as many committees as possible. "GG" will be remembered for her love for her Savior, her commitment to her Church and her unwavering sacrifices for her children and grandchildren. Nothing else mattered. Lucille loved her siblings, especially her sister Billie LeClercq and husband Bob along with younger brother Howard Armstrong and his wife Ann.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Lee Boazman; sisters, Mildred Bailey, Billie LeClercq; brothers, Lonnie Ray Armstrong, JC Armstrong and Howard Armstrong. She is survived by her children, Ray Lee Boazman and his wife Betty, Doug Boazman and wife Debbie and devoted daughter Terri Boazman. Grandchildren, Blaine Boazman and wife Kelly, Aimee Baker and husband Jeff, Heather Williams and husband Knox, Celeste May and husband Steve, Krista Gutierrez and husband Andres. Along with 10 great grandchildren, and 1 great great granddaughter.

The family would like to give Special Thanks to her care givers, especially Patti & Susie for their loving care as well to Mary McDonald and Pastor Steve Wagner for their prayers with her that never ceased.

Funeral Services will be held at Concordia Lutheran Church on 1604 & Huebner, Monday, June 19th, 10 am. Reception to follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Red Cross.
