

W. Ward Miller, age 66, was called home to heaven Friday, December 7, 2012. Ward was born on June 17, 1946, in Lamar, CO, to Rev. William Malcolm and Eleanor Gillette Miller. He graduated with a BBA degree from Baylor University in 1969 and was commissioned as a pilot into the USAF in 1970. He flew the T-38 Talon as an Instructor Pilot and later for Braniff Airlines and in 1983 became a State Farm Agent. Ward served as a Deacon and Bible Study teacher at First Baptist Church for over 35 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his wife of 43 years Nance, son Clay and daughter-in-law Anna, daughter Lindsey, and grandson Keaton Dean; sister Gay and husband David Hodges; brother Terry and wife Nancy; sister Linda; brother Dana and wife Susan; brother Paul and wife Deborah; brother-in-law Tim Short and wife Joy; and many nieces and nephews. Ward lived his life each day serving God, his family, and so many others. Ward enjoyed studying God's word, playing golf, traveling with his wife and family, hunting with his son, and teaching his grandson about flying airplanes. "Pops" is loved and admired and will be greatly missed by his family, friends, clients, church members, and colleagues.
