

Waldina Green, left us on October 5th, 2016. We all will miss her strong and loving demeanor. Our mother was born March 16, 1928 in Sinaloa, Mexico, as Waldina Peraza Ochoa. Her parents, Guadalupe Jose Ochoa Sr. and mother Ubaldina Peraza. While married to Reynaldo Castaneda Sr., Waldina gave birth to two children, Reynaldo and Jaime Castaneda. After coming to the United States Waldina then met and married John F. Green. Together they had two children, Linda and Johnny Green.
From oldest to youngest, Waldina is survived by the following:
Son- Reynaldo and wife Iztaccihuatl Castaneda, his three children, four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. From oldest to youngest are; Daughter- Rane and husband Rojelio Castillo. Her children Yvette, Briana, Britney, and Rayna. Rane's grandchildren Dakota and Anevay. Son- Reynaldo Castaneda Jr. and wife Guadalupe. Their children Freedom and Ashley Zamora. Daughter Cristina Castaneda.
Son- Jaime Castaneda, his three children and five grandchildren. From oldest to youngest are; Daughter- Elizabeth and husband Robert Hewitt. Her children William, Clifford, and Robert III Hewitt. Daughter- Jennifer and Husband Gilchrist. Her children Jesse and Justine Fimple. Daughter- Jaime Nicole Castaneda and her daughter Alina Myla Castaneda.
Daughter- Linda and Husband Tom Collins, one child and one grandchild. Son- David Stewart and his daughter Symphony.
Son- Johnny and wife Lisa Green, his three children and one grandchild. From oldest to youngest are; Son- Tyler Green and wife Yessica, currently expecting.
Son- Brandon Green and his son Logan. Daughter- Holly Green.
As the family of Waldina O. Green, or Dede as some of you know her, we would like to acknowledge the friends she maintained throughout her life, as well as the ones she made at the Incarnate Word Retirement Village. In particularly, we would like to thank Lydia, Ed, Harry DeCoteau, Peggy, Gabby, Mary and Betty. We would also like to include all the Nuns, Priests and staff at Incarnate Word Village that brought joy and peace into her life while she lived there.
Waldina was a strong Mother, loving Grandma, funny "Mama's" and completely devoted to all her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren. We will miss her dearly. Her caring heart and loving arms has helped us all to know what a strong Catholic woman should be. She inspired us to believe in God, become better people, and to Love more.
A service will be held on Wednesday, October 12, 2016, 12:15 p.m., at Porter Loring on McCullough Ave. Interment to follow in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
