Lt. Col Walter Lawrence Ringen USA Ret, died November 6, 2002 in San Antonio. He was born June 9, 1922 to Alice and Sam Ringen. Spike grew up in Indiana. He served in World War II as an enlisted man and received a battlefield commission during the Battle of the Bulge. After retirement in 1969, he enjoyed gardening and became a Master Gardener and also was known as a painting contractor. He is survived by his wife, Barbara; his daughter, Cherri; sister, Helen Fieser.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to The Living Bank, P.O.
