

Wanda Elizabeth Leur Blaine age 73 of San Antonio, died Tuesday, June 26, 2012. She was born in Victoria, Texas to the parents of Vernon Jatho and Mary Elizabeth (Smith) Leur.
Wanda was a graduate of Patti Welder High School and earned a Bachelor's and Master's degree at Southwest Texas State College in San Marcos. She taught for 42 years at Coker Elementary in San Antonio. Wanda was a devoted animal lover to her very faithful dog Gill and her cat Sweetie.
She was an active member serving in many positions for several organizations including the Daughters of the American Revolution; Green Mountain Boys Chapter; Alamo Mission Daughters of the Republic of Texas; Texas Division of the United Daughters of the Confederacy; Albert Sidney Johnston Chapter 2060; The National Society of the United States Daughter's of Eighteen Hundred and Twelve; Delta Kappa Gamma, Epsilon Beta Chapter, and the Hollywood Park Garden Club.
Wanda was a member of the First Presbyterian Church where she volunteered weekly in their library, and was a member of their Women's Circle # 11. As a descendant of the First Families of Texas, Wanda had a love for Genealogy and spent numerous years deeply involved in not only research of her own family but aided many others in their research.
She was preceded in death by her parents Mary Elizabeth and Vernon Jatho Leur and brother, Vernon James Leur. Wanda is survived by her brothers, William Leur and wife, Gena, and Richard Leur and wife, Gayle; sisters, Linda Cunningham and Beverly Leur all of Victoria, TX; nieces, Laura Chavano and Kelley Keeth; nephews, Randy and Bruce Cunningham and Chad, Ricky, Matt and Nickolas Leur. Wanda maintained a very close mother-daughter relationship with her ex-mother-in-law, Katherine Blaine.
