She will be reunited in heaven with her forever sweetheart, Jimmy Armand Lewis, who preceded her in death only 2 ½ months ago, her parents; son, Dean Lewis; sister, Joyce Massey and a host of other family.
Wanda met Jimmy in Delhi, LA when she was 9 and he was 13. They married on a very lucky Friday the 13th in April 1956. They have known each other for 75 years and were married for 65 of them.
Wanda loved doting on her family, playing the piano, cooking/baking, crocheting and knitting, painting, sewing…it was normal for all four of her daughters to be wearing the same hand-sewn dresses every Easter. Her cake decorating skills gave her 6 children the best birthday cakes growing up. She gave selflessly to her family and taught Sunday School classes, GA’s and even Girl Scouts while Jimmy took on the boys’ RA’s and Boy Scouts.
Wanda will always be remembered by her five remaining children: Stephen Lewis, Kyn Villarreal, Jaime Lewis, Trish Pennington, Vera Williams; 20 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to The Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.
Private family services will be held at Fort Sam Houston on June 1st.
