Warunya, also known as Nuk to her family, friends and co-workers, met her husband in early 2004, fell in love and moved to the United States where they married in August of 2004. She embraced becoming an American citizen but still held true to her Thai heritage. She quickly became known for her warm heart and her remarkable smile and laugh plus her ability to make everyone around her feel special and cared for.
Everybody who knew Nuk on any level was immediately drawn to her kind spirit, enlightening smile and wonderful laugh. She loved life and embraced every moment of each day.Nuk was an extraordinary wife, my best friend, and my partner in life.
She was a master’s degree graduate in food science, and she worked at some of the most accomplished food companies in the country. Nuk loved her career. She cherished every job that she had as she excelled in all of her professional opportunities. She won many awards while working at Trident Seafoods and Whataburger Corporation. Equally, she loved her co-workers and remained friends with many of them throughout the years.
Nuk had many hobbies and interests. She loved cooking, especially authentic Thai food. Her kitchen was always filled with love and beautiful aromas of her culinary creations, a fusion of traditional Thai cuisine and her own inventive recipes. Her love for American and Thai cuisine were not just food but expressions of her love and creativity.
Gardening was another one of Nuk’s passions. Her home was surrounded by lush, vibrant gardens, a testament to her devotion to her home and her deep connection with nature. Her landscaping and hardscaping skills were incredible. She loved spending time after work or on the weekends nurturing her plants, finding peace and fulfillment in tending to her garden. Her garden was not just a hobby but a sanctuary, a place where she could unwind and share the beauty of nature with others plus it was a great way to meet the neighbors. Nuk also had a flair for landscaping. She transformed her outdoor spaces into breathtaking landscapes, complete with creative designs, water features, and hardscaping new patios and walkways. Nuk also installed her own irrigation lines out to all her plants and trees.
Nuk also enjoyed sewing pillows for her home, bench seat covers, clothing or anything that she felt would brighten up and improve her home.
Her love for the beach and swimming in the ocean was well-known among her loved ones. Nuk found immense joy and peace sitting by the ocean, listening to the sound of the waves. The beach gave her joy and serenity. She loved travelling, mostly to beach locations and she would fly home to Thailand often to visit family and friends.
Nuk was a woman of unparalleled generosity and compassion. She lit up a room just by entering it. She always put others first before herself. Her selflessness was evident in the countless ways she cared for her family, friends, and even strangers, always ready with a helping hand, a kind word, or a warm smile. Nuk’s heart was as huge as her talents, and her legacy of kindness will continue to inspire all who knew her.
