He was born March 16, 1938, in Jacksonville, Florida to Gordon and Minty Nix.
He was a dedicated member of the Helotes Independent Baptist Church. An accomplished piano player and singer, Wayne led their choir and special singing groups.
He was also an athlete who loved playing all types of sports and played golf until he could not swing a club anymore.
Above all Wayne was a family man who especially loved his great-grandbabies, Timmy, Kaity, Ben and Riley.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bryan Nix and his beloved and brave grandson, LCpl Luke Holler, USMC.
Wayne is survived by his wife of 39 years, Naomi Nix; children, Marcus Bryan Nix and wife, Kelly, Ruth Holler and husband, John, Claude Salisbury and wife, Emma; 5 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; his sister, Martha Duvall and husband, James.
