'I will miss Wayne's unexpected phone calls, I enjoyed his subtle sense of humor and his willingness to be different. That and his deep love of music.'

'I will always be grateful to Wayne Vick for all that he has been in my life. Especially will I remember and be grateful to him for all that he contributed to the efforts of the AACOG Alamo-La Bahia Corridor Committee. We could always count on Wayne for being a Pony Express Courier to deliver Christmas greetings to the many communities along the corridor that extended from La Bahia (Goliad) to San Antonio. He especially enjoyed being on his faithful steed to personally deliver the Pony Express Mail to the people at Cestohowa in Karnes County. Also, Wayne participated many times in the dress and character of a Spanish Texas soldier on horseback carrying a Spanish flagor a Green Flagat the Pony Express Swearing-in Program in front of the San Antonio Downtown Post Office and at the Pony Express Grand Finale at Fort Sam Houston. My wife Victoria and I will miss his annual Christmas cards postmarked at the Cestohowa Station, signed by Wayne and with his horse and puppy footprints. Wayne was a very kind, special, and warm-hearted human being who will be missed by all who knew him.

'We knew Wayne from many different places. He was a lover of classical music and we always saw him at the symphony, Cactus Pear and Camerata concerts, as well as at the King William Association gatherings. He was often dressed in his riding boots, having rushed to the concert or party straight from the stable. We can't imagine a King William parade at Fiesta without Wayne. He is already missed, but not forgotten.'

I have known him more than 40 years, and his plumbing truck, driven by Wayne and his father, has been a fixture on McCullough Ave. all my life.
