My condolences to my dear childhood friend lesley. I'm sorry for you lost, I wish I would of had the chance to meet Wesley. You, gabby & the entire Rice family are in my thoughts & prayers.

As a military wife my heart goes out to his wife and daughter. We tend to overlook the sacrifices of those who serve among the "Silent Ranks". Thank you for your service and your husband will forever be seen as a hero in our eyes.

My condolences to the wife, parents,and family of Sgt Rice. He was truly an amazing person. He impacted the lives of many. I don't think he knew how many lives he's touched but I am one of them. His smile could warm you for days and his jokes and silliness could keep you laughing for months. He was a beautiful person. May God grant your family peace during this difficult time. Have faith in knowing we will see him again. He will be missed by all.

I'm sorry to hear about wesley. I went to school with him at Bowie and also at Fox Tech. I havent seen him since i left Tech. I lived down the street and often visit wesley and jonathan. He was a good person. I do think of all the people we knew from school and wesley is the first that would come to mind.

Wesley- Your character and loving heart will be forever imprinted upon me. You were such a beautiful person with a heart of gold. You loved others more than you loved yourself. You were the type of person that if they didn't know you they wanted to know you; You were just that amazing.To me you will always be the young kid wearing glasses playing the saxophone in his 49ers Rice jersey sitting a chair away from me cracking jokes during band practice. You were always a sweetheart and lived to make people smile. My thoughts and prayers go out to your family. I know everyone is truly hurt by your passing. May gods love and peace comfort us all left behind with your memories.

I am so grateful to have known Wesley for three yrs of my life. I only wish we would have crossed paths once more. My condolences to Sgt.Wesley Rice's wife, daughter and to his entire family. You are a hero to us all and may you rest in peace.

My deepest condolences to the wife, parents, family and friends of Sgt Rice. Being a former Amtracker for over 15 years with billets as a crewman, crew chief, Platoon Sergeant and Company Gunny and First Sergeant I know the dangers involved in training in both ship to shore operations and terrain training. I did not know Sgt Rice personally, but his billet as an instructor at at the Basic AAV School, he was the cream of the crop to be chosen for this assignment. They choose nothing but the best and Sgt Rice was the best. God bless and Semper Fi!

I have known Lesley since high school. Just from talking to her, I knew Wes was a good man, husband, father, son, and friend. He will be missed. I have assured Lesley that I will be here for her and Gabby. I want to send my condolences and prayers to all of Wesley's family and friends. Wesley will forever be known as a TRUE HERO.

I remember Wesley as a little boy @James Bowie Elementary School. He was always trying to make people laugh, which would sometimes get him in trouble in class! But he was a good boy! Just wanting to make his classmates laugh and feel good about themselves. I substituted for one of Wesley's teachers back when he was at Bowie. I'll admit, I had to reprimand him at times, but he always obeyed when he knew he was treading stormy waters, so to speak!

Wesley was a good boy and I am so proud that he grew up to be an even better man! My son, Benjamin Vidales, was a good friend of Wesley's and they hung out together, not only @ Bowie, but also at Irving Middle School and while Benjamin was enrolled at Fox Tech. Wesley and Benjamin had just recently gotten back in touch with each other via Face Book & Ben was so excited!

Our prayers and condolences go out to Mr. & Mrs. Rice, Wesley's sister, his wife & daughter and the rest of his family. He will always be remembered as a good boy. As my husband, Mario, also a Marine, would say, "Semper Fi!" You've done a great job, Marine! May you rest in peace in the loving arms of our Lord & Savior.

Truely tragic. my husband served with sgt. rice and was heart broken when he learned of his death. i hear his marines speak of him as amazing at his work and funny loving and just an all around great man. jan 14th will be forever remembered in our family as sgt wesley rice day. we will celebrate his live and the many lives he touched.
