

He was preceded in death by his parents Fredrick W. and Ida Mary Bruhn; 2 infant brothers; brother-in-law, Carl Fuhrmann.
He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 67 years, Alma May; daughters, Sallie Anne Lipschuetz of Denver, CO. and Bettie/Betsy Chames and husband, George of San Antonio; granddaughters, Ami Marsell and husband, Jason of Denver, CO. and Jenny Poppe and husband, Neil of Wichita, KS; sister-in-law, Ruth Caldwell; numerous beloved nieces and nephews; as well as great nieces and nephews.
Mr. Bruhn grew up here in San Antonio, truly loving this city. He attended Herff Elementary; Poe Jr. High and he graduated from Brackenridge High School. He then completed 2 years of college at St. Mary's University before he volunteered to serve in the United States Army during World War II. In 1937, he married the one and only great love of his life, Alma May.
They soon started their beautiful family together as he pursued his career in Civil Service Manpower Management. He took great joy in being a faithful deacon for 54 years at Baptist Temple, the church to which he belonged from early childhood until the present year.
There, he was also the Training Union Director as well as the Director of Adult Sunday School Classes, touching many lives with his inspiring devotionals every Sunday. Wilbert Bruhn was truly a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. His great love for God and family, church and country, and excellence in all that he did, have and will continue to be a source of inspiration to all who knew him. He will be sadly missed but lovingly remembered-always
