

After serving in the U.S. Army and receiving an Honorable Discharge in 1946, he and his family moved to San Antonio. He was married to Elizabeth "Betty" Erwin on July 11, 1943.
Survivors include his daughters Jane Findling Burton and her husband, Emmette Y. Burton, III of San Antonio; Dianne Findling Retegui and her husband Carlos Retegui Rossell of Lima, Peru; grandchildren, Carlos, Michael, Carmen, Mark and James Retegui, great-grandson, Gaetano Dellepiane; and a brother, John D. Findling of Golden, CO.
Bill was the founding partner of the C.P.A. firm, Findling, Milam and Pyle, from which he retired in 1993. He was active in his professional organizations at the local, state and national levels, serving in many capacities. He was Past President of the San Antonio Chapter of C.P.A.'s and Past Vice-president of the Texas Society.
He was granted Honorary Fellow in the Texas Society of C.P.A.'s and in the San Antonio Chapter of the Texas Society for his many years of service. He was a member of Christ Episcopal Church, having served on the Vestry and as Head Usher. He is member and Past President of the Alamo Heights Rotary Club, and Rotary International Paul Harris Fellow. He served as President of the North Loop 410 Association.
He was graduated from Indiana University and is a member of the Emeritus Club. He is a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity.
The family wishes to acknowledge the staff and caregivers at Kingsley Place at Oakwell Farms and Vitas Hospice Care; and most especially the devotion of Hilda Rodriguez, caregiver and friend of six years.
