He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII.
He was the Vice President of Sales for Alamo Machinery and was a member of the San Antonio Manufacturing Association and SCORE.
Woody was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church where he was a member of the Vestry. He was also a member of St. Luke's School Board, Senior Warden, and member of Venture in Mission for the Diocese of West Texas.
He was preceded in death by his son, Gary Woodring.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Alyne H. Woodring; daughter, Diane Thrush and husband, Jimmy; granddaughter, Kathryn Franks and husband, Kevin; grandson, John Thrush and wife, Sonia; great grandsons, Hudson Franks and Walker Franks; four brothers and sisters.
The family requests memorials be made to St. Luke's Episcopal Church.
