William "Billy" C. Struzenski Jr. passed away peacefully on March 9, 2025, surrounded by his loving family and devoted friends. He was predeceased by his wife of 55 years, Barbara, and is survived by his daughter, Karen (Todd) Koym, and his granddaughters, Kendall and Kate. Billy also leaves behind his sister, Carol Ann (Ed), his brother, Robert (Sue), his brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Nancy, along with five nieces and two nephews.
Born in Hartford, CT, Billy and Barbara spent most of their lives in nearby Newington. Billy was a skilled baker and owner of the popular Park Pastry Shop for nearly 40 years, delighting his family and friends with delicious cheese danishes, chocolate eclairs, a variety breads, and the BEST donuts anywhere! At nearly 70 years of age, Billy and Barbara moved to Texas in 2005 to be closer to Karen and their grandchildren. He fully immersed himself in his family's lives, helping with family businesses and being ever-present at games, birthday parties, vacations, and holidays. He also made several close neighborhood friends and worked at a car wash, where he combined his love of cars with his ability to connect with people of all ages.
A loving husband, devoted father, proud grandfather, caring brother, and loyal friend, Billy was beloved for his generosity, humility, quick-witted sense of humor and an unnatural love of donuts. He was a gift to everyone who was blessed to call him friend. Among his greatest pleasures were riding his motorcycle, boating on the Connecticut River, spending time with family in Clinton, CT, playing golf, attending car and boat shows with his buddies, enjoying slot machines and dog shows with Barbara and his monthly daddy/daughter dates with Karen. Billy developed a deep faith and cherished attending church with his daughter and granddaughters. Above all, he was known for making us laugh like no one else could and his endless pursuit of a decent donut.
Billy will always be loved and remembered. Heaven just got a lot funnier.
A celebration of life will be held at Bulverde Methodist Church, 28300 US-281, on Monday, April 7th at 11:00am
