He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army for 20 years. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, watching football and baseball, and especially spending time with his grandchildren. William was a genuinely caring man, who was always concerned for others.
He was preceded in death by his father, Billy George Erwin and his paternal grandparents Ike and Thelma Erwin.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Ai Shu; daughters, Bonita Erwin and Belinda Erwin; grandchildren, Kayla Huff, Kameron Prater, Kolton Prater, and Kyle Prater; mother, Anita Eubanks; brothers, Richard, Jeff, Kenneth, and Billy Erwin, and Sonny Eubanks; sisters, Brenda Stone, Kathy Ball, Pauline Siegler, and Sheila Dunn; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
