We have never met and I don't even know you all, but what I do know is that we both lost a husband and a father the same night. My husband Terrance was also a firefighter, served in the military and the same funeral home took care of the services. My heart goes out to each of you, I'm sure we are sharing the same pain. I stay up everynight reading my husbands page as well as Mr. Foley's and it hurts so much just knowing that they were so loved and taken care away so suddenly. My condolences to all your family.  I served with Bill at Mackown Dental Clinic for many years when he would do his weekend reservist duty.  He was an outstanding person and friend.  I always respected his work ethic and admired his personal skill while interacting with patients and workers.  My prayers are with your family.

Bill was an outstanding senior non-commissioned officer and the perfect role model for all personnel - airmen, NCOs, and officers alike.  His troops worked with him, not for him.  He never asked any of them to do something he wouldn't do himself.  He was a central cog in the 11th USAF Contingency Hospital and worked tirelessly to make the dental section and the unit as a whole the best in the Air Force Reserve.  He readily volunteered to take on demanding additional duties.  His dedication and drive for perfection were characteristics that took him into the senior NCO ranks.  I was lucky enough to be his First Sergeant and comrade-in-arms for 15 years. Our world is saddened by his parting, but heaven just received a bright new star.

Bill was a friend, and a brother.  We worked together in the AF before I retired, and have seen and spoken to each other many times since.  I don't think he ever met a stranger, and I don't think he had a bad word for anyone.  Just running into him was enough to make your day better.  I only hope I can mean as much to people as Bill has, because that is a tall order to fill.  Brother, I will miss you greatly, and I know you are not gone, but in training for your next mission in this world.  Love you, man.

Bill, even though I never got to met you I have heard such great things about you, how you have such a big heart and being here for your family and your neighborhood kids too. MY HEART GOES OUT TO THE FOLEY FAMILY...BILL WAS A WONDERFUL MAN..

I met Bill in '94 we were both AirForce and both loved our Jeeps.  We became instant friends.  Bill forced me to sign up for the firefighter exam.  I still remember him talking about the fire department..his eyes would light up.  "It's like a clubhouse with your friends and even when you work it's freaking fun".  He sold me on the idea and sure enough I got in.  I love the fire department just as much as he said I would.  Bill was an inspiration to me.  I would stand up for him and with him beside me I knew we could do anything....I loved working with him.....I regret that I couldn't protect him when he needed it.  I love this man as my big brother.  I spoke with him quite a bit on the Monday he left us.  I can only say he was still same old Bill (ear to ear grin) and a big warm handshake and hug.  Yep we even talked Jeep and discussed putting a new engine in that cj-7.  I know that Bill loved and cherished his family and always bragged on his girls.
  
Sandy I'm so sorry for this tragedy, I wish I could help take the pain away. I hope you realize that we are all a part of your family still and will be here for you always. My deepest condolences go out to you and the girls as well as his family in Michigan.  Thank you all for sharing him with us. 

  I really feel the world is a colder place now without the light of this great man.

My thoughts and prayers are with Bill's Family as well as with his Brothers and Sisters of the San Antonio Fire Department.

I have known Bill since 1998 and met him first with 433 MDS. He always helped out the little Airman and was always willing to help in anyway possible. It was always nice to see his big smile walking through the doors in the ER at Methodist Hospital. MSGT Foley or Bill you will be truely missed by many. You have touched so many hearts with your 49 years of life. We are lucky to have met your precious presents in life.

I met Bill briefly while working at Gradys in the few encounters in which we crossed paths it was clear that he was a very well respected man. He always made it a point to greet everyone and came across as sincere and warm individual.

I meet Bill back in 1989, when i was moving into the same apartment complex.  I was upstairs unloading boxes when I hear a knock on the door and there he stood holding a box and introducing himself.  His smile was so contagious we became friend immediately I had not spoken to him since i moved to dallas.  It saddens my heart to hear about his passing.  Sandy I never got to meet you.  But my prayers and thoughts are with you and your family at this very difficult time in your lives.  Keep strong for your girls.

I've known Bill for many years. He has handed me off hundreds of patients in the ER. Always with a huge silly grin. Bill never complained and he always put a smile on my face regardless of the craziness of the night in the department. Marti and I wish your family peace in your souls in knowing that someday you will see him again and you will feel at home when he greets you with that big ole smile!
